JAGGAER PunchOut for suppliers
Universities, research institutes and health services buy through JAGGAER, often from a panel of PunchOut suppliers. Their buyers open your store from JAGGAER, shop at their contract prices and send the cart back for approval. TierCommerce is your PunchOut site, and the purchase order goes straight into your ERP.

JAGGAER PunchOut at a glance

How a JAGGAER PunchOut works
JAGGAER asks PunchOut suppliers to follow the cXML standard. Here’s each step, with the cXML message behind it.
-
1
The buyer opens your catalogue
From their JAGGAER shopping page, they choose your PunchOut catalogue. JAGGAER sends their identity and shared secret to your store.

2
They shop your store
TierCommerce checks the credential and opens your store already signed in, with only the contract prices and products their account can buy.

3
The cart goes back
They return the cart instead of checking out. Each line goes back with your part number, price, unit and UNSPSC code, ready for approval.

The purchase order arrives
Once it’s approved, JAGGAER raises the purchase order and sends it as cXML. It’s checked and sent into your ERP.

Getting set up with a JAGGAER customer
JAGGAER runs supplier enablement as a project between you, your customer and its own team. These are the steps, and who does each one.

-
3

4
Add your PunchOut site

5
Test orders, then production
TogetherTest orders run in JAGGAER’s test environment. Once everyone signs off, the connection moves to production.
What TierCommerce handles for JAGGAER
JAGGAER doesn’t build or debug suppliers’ integrations, so suppliers usually need their own developer or a PunchOut vendor. With TierCommerce, it’s ready in your store.
- cXML setup requests checked against each customer’s identity and shared secret
- Each account’s contract prices and approved product range
- A UNSPSC code on every cart line, with a default for anything uncoded
- Carts that JAGGAER sends back to be edited reopen with their items
- Purchase orders checked against the account’s prices before they become orders
- Orders sent into your ERP with the JAGGAER PO number
- Every session and message logged, with secrets removed

Where JAGGAER PunchOuts go wrong
University supplier guides for JAGGAER keep raising the same rules. Here’s what they expect, and how TierCommerce meets it.
-
UNSPSC codes on every line
Universities on JAGGAER require a UNSPSC code on each cart line. TierCommerce sends each product’s code, or the account’s default.
-
Contract prices only
Buyers should only ever see their contract prices. Each account in TierCommerce sees its own prices and range, and nothing else.
-
Units that match the invoice
The unit in the cart has to match the unit you invoice in. TierCommerce uses the same units your ERP does, from cart to order.
-
Not ready at kick-off
JAGGAER can cancel an enablement if a supplier can’t support it. TierCommerce is ready before the first call.
-
Prices that changed
If a price changes between the cart and the purchase order, the order is held for your team instead of going through at the wrong price.
-
Enablement waves
A customer’s JAGGAER project covers a set number of supplier enablements. Suppliers who are ready early are easier to fit in.
Who buys through JAGGAER in Australia

JAGGAER PunchOut questions
Does JAGGAER support PunchOut?
Yes. JAGGAER eProcurement supports hosted catalogues and PunchOut catalogues. With PunchOut, buyers shop the supplier’s own store and the cart comes back to JAGGAER for approval.
Is JAGGAER the same as SciQuest?
Yes. SciQuest renamed itself JAGGAER in 2017. Many universities also give their JAGGAER site its own name, so your customer might call it something else.
Does JAGGAER use cXML or OCI?
cXML for most customers. JAGGAER’s supplier terms ask PunchOut suppliers to follow the cXML standard, and it uses OCI for some SAP-connected customers. TierCommerce supports both.
Is the JAGGAER Supplier Network free?
JAGGAER describes its supplier network as fee-free. If a supplier pays a third party to build its PunchOut, that cost is the supplier’s, which is what TierCommerce saves you.
How do JAGGAER purchase orders reach us?
JAGGAER can send purchase orders by cXML, email or fax, or through its supplier portal. Choose cXML with your TierCommerce URL and each one is checked and sent into your ERP. If they arrive by email, Order Entry reads them.
What do universities expect in the cart?
Their contract prices only, units that match your invoices, and a UNSPSC code on every line. TierCommerce handles all three from your existing product data.
Can we test before going live?
Yes. Test orders run in JAGGAER’s test environment before production. Your TierCommerce PunchOut page can also send a test setup request through the same checks JAGGAER’s will.
What does PunchOut cost in TierCommerce?
PunchOut is an add-on on Professional and Enterprise. It’s $149 a month, including your first connected customer account, then $69 for each extra account up to 10 and $39 each after that, in Australian dollars ex GST.
