Key takeaways
- Shopify Plus costs A$3,700 a month on a three-year term or A$4,000 on one year, and each brand needs its own contract.
- Company and location catalogues, which hold customer-specific prices, are Plus only. Below Plus you get three B2B catalogues.
- Orders paid through a gateway other than Shopify Payments carry a 0.2% Shopify fee on Plus. Bank deposits and draft orders marked paid don’t.
- A typical B2B app stack for a MYOB wholesaler costs A$874 a month; Oracle’s NetSuite connector alone is A$1,328 a month on its B2B plan.
- For a business with A$10 million of online B2B orders, Shopify’s licence and fees plus the apps come to about A$60,900 a year, before the A$80,000–180,000 build.
Shopify Plus is the platform many Australian brands already know, and it has B2B features built in. For a wholesaler, though, the licence is only the first line. Trade customers bring apps for quotes and credit, a connector to the ERP, fees on payments taken through your own gateway, and a separate contract for every brand.
One Australian agency says licensing “is rarely the largest cost” of a Shopify Plus project,[1] and that’s true of the build year. Over the life of the store, the recurring lines add up. This guide prices each one from Shopify’s own pages and the app listings, as of October 2026. We make TierCommerce, a B2B platform that competes with Shopify for wholesalers, so we’re not neutral; every price is linked.
The Shopify Plus licence in Australia
Shopify Plus costs A$3,700 a month on a three-year term or A$4,000 a month on a one-year term.[2] The contract terms matter as much as the price:
- One contract per brand. Shopify says a separate Shopify Plus contract is needed for each brand. A wholesaler with two brands pays two licences.[2]
- Nine expansion stores included, then A$500 a month each.[2] A trade store, a retail store and an NZ store use three.
- A variable platform fee replaces the fixed fee for higher-volume businesses, and Shopify says it’s different for B2B and direct-to-consumer orders.[2] Shopify doesn’t publish the rate or the threshold, so ask for both in writing at your forecast sales.
Which B2B features need Plus
Shopify’s core B2B features are now on every paid plan, but the ones most wholesalers need for contract pricing are still Plus only:[3]
| Feature | Below Plus | Plus |
|---|---|---|
| B2B catalogues (price lists) | Partly: Up to 3 | Yes: Unlimited |
| Catalogues for a company or location | No: No | Yes: Yes |
| Deposits and partial payments | No: No | Yes: Yes |
| Net payment terms | Yes: Yes | Yes: Yes |
| PO numbers at checkout | Yes: Yes | Yes: Yes |
| Quantity breaks and quick order | Yes: Yes | Yes: Yes |
- Yes: Better for a wholesaler
- Partly: Depends, or ask
- No: Watch out
If even a handful of your customers have their own contract prices, three catalogues won’t hold them, which is why most ERP-integrated wholesalers end up on Plus.
Payment fees on your own gateway
Shopify charges a fee on every order paid through a payment gateway other than Shopify Payments: 0.2% on Plus, against 2% on Basic, 1% on Grow and 0.6% on Advanced. Shopify Payments itself costs 1.15% plus 30 cents per card transaction on Plus.[4]
Wholesalers often take card payments through their bank’s gateway or one their ERP already reconciles, so the 0.2% applies. It doesn’t apply to manual payment methods such as bank deposits, or to draft orders marked as paid.[5] Orders placed on account and paid later by bank transfer may avoid it; card payments through another gateway don’t.
The apps a wholesaler adds
Native Shopify B2B covers price lists, terms and quick order. Quotes, credit limits, company onboarding and the connection to an Australian ERP are apps, each billed monthly in US dollars. This is the typical Shopify Plus stack for a MYOB wholesaler from our audit of 62 listings:
| App | For | A month |
|---|---|---|
| InSyncer for MYOB Exo or Acumatica (B2B Sync) | MYOB connector with customer pricing | A$500 |
| BSS B2B Request a Quote (Enterprise) | Quotes | A$114 |
| Quay: B2B Credit Limits (Growth) | Credit limits | A$114 |
| Onboard B2B (Growth) | Company onboarding and approval | A$145 |
| Total | A$874 |
The connector changes the most with your ERP. Oracle’s NetSuite connector costs A$1,328 a month on its B2B plan, the only plan with B2B order and customer sync.[7] Pronto’s own Shopify connector costs A$578–2,897 a month plus A$1,448 installation, with orders capped per plan.[8] For MYOB Acumatica, customer pricing needs the A$500 B2B Sync tier.[9]
Some B2B apps cap orders too. SparkLayer, a popular B2B pricing and ordering app, costs A$71–433 a month with 50 to 150 B2B orders a month included, and its ERP API access is only on the Pro plan.[10] Check every app’s caps against your busiest month, not an average one.
Estimate your own Shopify Plus bill
Enter your online B2B sales, how much is paid by card through another gateway, and how many brands and stores you run. The estimator opens on one brand with A$10 million of online orders, 30% of it paid by card through a third-party gateway.

Shopify Plus B2B fee estimator
A year of Shopify Plus for a wholesaler: the licence, extra stores, Shopify’s fee on other gateways and the apps B2B needs.
On those inputs, Shopify charges A$50,400 a year and the MYOB app stack about A$10,487, roughly A$60,887 a year before the build, card processing or any variable platform fee.
The build
The same agency puts a mid-market Shopify Plus project with an ERP integration at A$80,000–180,000.[1] Most of that goes into the B2B rules, not the storefront: making Shopify’s catalogues hold the prices your ERP calculates, mapping customers and locations, and making sure orders reach the ERP once. Our ERP integration cost guide breaks that down by day rate, and our B2B portal cost guide adds it all up over three years.
A three-year example
For the example business above, on a three-year term with no extra brands:
| Line | Three years |
|---|---|
| Agency build with ERP integration | A$80,000–180,000 |
| Shopify Plus licence | A$133,200 |
| 0.2% third-party gateway fee | A$18,000 |
| B2B and MYOB apps (about) | A$31,461 |
| Total, before card processing and maintenance | A$262,661–362,661 |
US-dollar prices are converted at about US$0.69 to the Australian dollar, the rate on 1 October 2026,[11] so the app line moves with the exchange rate. Shopify can bill Australian stores in Australian dollars, but it converts app charges from US dollars and adds a 1.5% currency exchange fee.[12]
Shopify vs TierCommerce, feature by feature
Price is one side of it. The other is what your trade customers can actually do. Shopify was built for selling to consumers, and its B2B features were added on top, so several things wholesalers take for granted aren’t in Shopify’s B2B feature list and need an app, or Shopify Plus.[3] This is every B2B feature side by side.

When Shopify Plus is the right choice
Shopify suits a retailer already selling to consumers on Shopify that wants to add a small number of trade customers on simple price lists. It suits wholesalers much less once trade is most of the business. Credit limits and stop-credit, buyer-side approvals, quotes and trade account applications all need apps, catalogues for individual customers need Plus, and an Australian ERP connects through a third-party app.
On TierCommerce the ERP integration, customer pricing and quotes are included in the subscription, with no per-order fees: from A$500 a month for Xero and MYOB Business, and A$1,500 a month for Pronto Xi, NetSuite, Options, MYOB Acumatica, Business Central, Cin7 and Unleashed, which adds invoices paid online.
